Monday, 19 Oct 2015, 2:26 PM IST The producer of the film ‘Calendar Girls’ Sangeeta Ahir isn’t happy after her movie didn’t get a favourable response at the box-office and she is blaming Madhur Bhandarkar for the failure. Sangeeta explains, “As producers, we left Madhur to do his job because of his experience. We gave him complete creative control. Every film, successful or unsuccessful, teaches us something. The ‘Calendar Girls’ experience has taught me a lot. You have to tap the pulse of the people, not just market it. It’s important not to just make a good film, but a very good film in today’s times (like Talvar). ‘Calendar Girls’ could have been very good. Every director has to think of that and not be about I, me and myself. It’s about team work and team spirit. The director is the captain of the whole team. He can’t sit and say, ‘That’s my throne!’ That’s not acceptable.” Madhur Bhandarkar has directed critically acclaimed movies like ‘Chandni Bar’ and ‘Page 3’.
