Saturday, 31st Jan 2015, 3:43 PM IST Akshay Kumar is not in the best phase of his career. Few of his recent films didn’t do well at the box-office and even his recently released flick ‘Baby’ is said to be an average grosser. So, if sources are to be believed, the actor has reduced his fees by 50 percent for his next film ‘Airlift’. A source said, “Akshay is a very sensible businessman. He will never want any of his filmmakers to suffer losses. He usually charges Rs 25 crores for a film (including Baby), but for ‘Airlift’, he has decided to slash it to 12.5 crores.”
“He is cutting down his fees to make the project budget-friendly. He will now have an 80 per cent claim in the film’s profit share. So this way, the producer doesn’t have to pay the actor up front and the total remuneration depends on the film’s performance,” the source added.
