It has becomealmost a norm that a blockbuster film is followed by its sequel these days. Sohere comes the announcement of next big sequel. Producer Atul Agnihotri isworking on a sequel of Salman Khan-starrer film “Bodyguard”. “Bodyguard”, the 2011 romantic-action filmdirected by south film director Siddique, was the third remake of thedirector’s own film of the same name.
The film was produced by Atul Agnihotri and starred Salman and Kareena Kapoor.It went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, earning overRs 230 crore. “For the sequel...its work is under progress for “Bodyguard”. Weare working only on the script at the moment. We are doing a fresh takeon “Bodyguard”,” Producer Atul Agnihotri told PTI.
Earlier, there were reports that the sequel has been shelved. Asked about thestarcast, Agnihotri says, “We haven’t zeroed down on the cast yet. Not possibleto make a sequel without Salman.”
Director Siddique is not a part of the sequel, Agnihotri said. As to who wouldbe writing and directing it then, he said: “We will update as soon as thingsfall in place.”
