In Yash Chopra's nextstarring SRK and Katrina Kaif, the couple will carry forward their charactersfrom the filmmaker's 1976 classic “Kabhie Kabhie”.
Even as all eyes are on Yash Chopra's next starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, which marks hisreturn as director after a hiatus of eight years, it is now learnt Rishi and Neetu Kapoor will play not-so small cameos in thefilm. The couple will carry forward the characters they portrayed in thefilmmaker's 1976 classic “KabhieKabhie”, where theyromanced to the tune of numbers like tere chehre senazar nahin hat-ti and tera phoolon jaisa rang composed by Khayyam. We hear A RRahman will compose a special romantic number for them in the film.
The Kapoors, who are in Prague this week for a friend's 60th birthday bash, will fly down to London to join Yash Chopra's unit to play their parts that carrytremendous nostalgic value.Rishi Kapoor confirmedthe news but refused to divulge details, "From Prague, we head to Londonto shoot for Yash Chopra. It's an honour and our way of paying our respect tothe filmmaker. Beyond that, I don't think I should talk about our role. Yash Chopra would like the nature of ourappearance to be a surprise."
However, a source close to the film revealed, "Yash Chopra, who considers “Daag”, “Kabhie Kabhie” and “Chandni” to be his most romantic films ever, ishoping to recreate the romance of these films in his next. Shah Rukh andKatrina have been projected through music and poetry the way Amitabh Bachchanand Raakhee were in “Kabhie Kabhie”. To create a sense of continuityand constancy between the two romantic eras covered by “KabhieKabhie” and YashChopra's new film, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor will be playing the two carefreestudents Vicky Khanna and Pinky Kapoor, respectively, from “KabhiKabhie”, once wildlyin love, now happily married for decades and still wildly in love."
