Wednesday, 3rd October 2018, 4:50 PM IST Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Andhadhun’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu, is all set to baffle the audience with its thriller/romance genre this Friday. Ayushmann Khurrana, who plays the character of a blind man in ‘Andhadhun’, talked about the side effects of playing such an intense role, about doing the thriller genre for the first time and how it was working with the Netflix sensation of today’s time, Radhika Apte. The trailer of Andhadhun is being loved by the audiences, so when asked about it Ayushmann said he is very excited regarding it because it is a unique trailer. It’s a very unique genre that Sriram Raghavan has cracked because it is a thriller but still not a dark thriller, it has moments of darkness but it has a lot of fun moments, lot of quirks and you’ll be getting a lot of shockers or revelation every 7 minutes into the film so its really exciting. When asked about doing a thriller with the Badlapur director, Ayushmann said that he feels like he is in safe hands with Sriram Raghavan. The actor did not want to do a thriller or anything different with a new director or somebody he doesn’t trust, so he waited for six years to have that gear shift and finally did a thriller with Sriram Raghavan. As the audiences will see Ayushmann in a new character, something different from his usual “slice of life’ films, we asked him what attracts him to the character. Ayushmann said more than the character he sees the film in totality. It should be entertaining as a film or it should be different, never been achieved before kind off script. The ‘Vicky Donor’ actor thinks that that really attracts him a lot more than his own character. On working with Radhika Apte, Ayushmann confessed that Radhika is a very brave actor. She’s taken a lot of courageous characters which is very unusual with the frontline actors these days. As Ayushmann started with playing the role of a sperm donor, then moved to the middle-class guy to a guy with erectile dysfunctioning and now a blind man, so when asked what kind of character he wishes to play next, he said he really don’t know. He thinks Bollywood has got very talented scriptwriters, he never expected he will be playing a sperm donor, he never thought he will be playing a guy with erectile dysfunction, so he thinks more than him there might be some writer writing a quirky character for the handsome star in some corner of Aaram nagar or Andheri (laughs). Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun is slated to release on 5th October, 2018.
