CBFC To Re-Watch HIGHWAY After Refusing To Showcase It On Doordarshan
Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Highway’ was not allowed to showcase on Doordarshan as Central Board of Film Certification had refused to give a 'U' certificate to Imtiaz Ali's film for screening on the channel. And now, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has asked for a re-review of the film.

Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Highway’ was not allowed to showcase on Doordarshan as Central Board of Film Certification had refused to give a 'U' certificate to Imtiaz Ali's film for screening on the channel. And now, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has asked for a re-review of the film. 

A source said, "The entire team of ‘Highway’ was quite upset by the Board's snub. A file was sent to them about the cuts required but when two of the Board's member mentioned that there was a thematic problem with the film, no amount of trimming could have solved that." 

According to DD's programming code, only those films which get a 'U' certificate can be viewed on the channel. 

CBFC spokesperson Shravan Kumar confirmed the news and said, "Yes, the Board has decided to re-watch the film and a Committee will be shortly formed for the screening."
