Exclusive Interview: Sharing Space With Govinda Sir Was Like A Dream Come True, Says Varun Sharma

Thursday, 11th October 2018, 4:00 PM IST When Box Office Capsule got a chance to interview the 'Fukrey' fame Varun Sharma for his upcoming movie 'FryDay' along with the coolest director Abhishek Dogra, we came across so many things about the movie and the fun they went through. Read on to know the deets! 1.Varun - The first and a major question I know everyone is asking you, but I'll twist it a bit and ask - how it was not working with Govinda for so many years? Its every actors dream to work with Govinda sir. I'm a 90’s kid and a huge admirer of all his films and his songs. As a child, I always used to mimic him and dance to his songs. And then one-day 'FryDay' came in and I was told that I will be sharing screen space with Govinda sir and there was my childhood dream finally complete. The trailer and songs are been accepted by the audience really well and I am dancing with him so it's very exciting. 2. Abhishek - Your debut film 'Dolly Ki Doli' was received well by the audience and got a good response on the television, what are your expectations from 'FryDay'? I really want the audience to go and watch this film and then like it as well. Both Govinda and Varun have performed really well. It was so sweet to work with them. 3.Varun - Because we all know what kind of respect Govinda gets in the industry, was there any kind of nervousness around him? Or were there any pre-shoot jitters with him? Absolutely not. Yes, there was some nervousness that I had but absolutely no pre-shoot jitters. Also, we have shot the film for 2 months in Delhi, we did the promotion campaigns, he has been here in all the thick and thin. He is very professional, he was always there on time, he is a legend. He is 155 + movies old and still, he rehearses before the shoots. He will chat with the actors and directors and make everyone comfortable. 4.Abhishek - How hard or easy it was to handle the blasting talent of both Govinda and Varun Sharma at a single time? It was actually a lot of fun. Govinda and Varun both are Punjabi, so we all got involved with the jokes and all. When we went to his place to talk about the film, we did not talk about the movie at all. And we did not feel like meeting him for the first time, we had a very casual talk. So, it's easy. Also, both of them understood each other's way of working and complimented each other for their work. Varun is a very sharp actor, he understands things easily. On the other hand, Govinda likes trying new things with his acting skills, so he keeps experimenting. 5. What's happening with 'Fukrey 3'? Varun: Even I want to know (laughs). But I really hope it happens, I hope the makers come up with an amazing story. Abhishek: I think we should have 'Fukrey' every year. 6.The movie is clashing with many movies at the box office - 'Helicopter Eela', 'Jalebi', 'Tumbaad'. Do you think it'll affect the release of 'FryDay'? Abhishek: All are of different genres. I don’t think it will affect anyone’s business. If you want to watch comedy, then watch 'FryDay', if you want to watch entertainment, then also watch 'FryDay' and if you want to watch a good movie then you should definitely watch 'FryDay' (Laughs). Varun: Even I think that the audiences are getting all different genres this weekend so everyone will get to enjoy every movie.
