Is YRF’s TITLI Most Abusive Film Made In India Ever?

Wednesday, 1st July 2015, 3:11 PM IST Last year, YRF came up with Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani’ which was regarded as the grittiest film made under the banner. And now, it looks like YRF has come up with the most abusive film ever made in India. We are talking about the film ‘Titli’. ‘Titli’ which has been doing the rounds of many film festivals was sent for certification to CBFC last week. The film has received an ‘A’ certificate, but board members are shocked to see the abusive words in the film. One of the board members said, "We are aware of a very long list of gaalis. But the ones used in ‘Titli’ are in a league of their own. They go way beyond the routine insult to mothers and sisters." "These are gaalis that even Anurag Kashyap and Vishal Bhardwaj are probably not aware of," the member added. The member adds that CBFC was in a dilemma and didn’t know to how to deal with the violent flow of swear words. "If we deleted or muted the gaalis, the entire film would have gaps in the soundtrack. Besides, this is a good film. So, the strong language is permissible," the member said. The movie is jointly produced by YRF and Dibakar Banerjee.
