Tuesday, 17th July 06:00 PM IST JOKER Fans Of TIGER Stars
You are going through your twitter or facebook timeline andyou see some crazy guys going nuts over certain reviews or articles about a Bollywoodstar. In an hour or so you will find thousand of comments, shares and tweetsfull of venom and hate speeches against the writer of that particular articleor review. You guessed it right; these haters are bunch of guys who are intofull time job of “protecting” their favorite star from any kind of unwantedreporting.
Welcome to the world of social networking where stars as bigas TIGERS are supposed to be protected by “bunch of joker fans”. Gone are thedays when discussions used to end amicably. Now days it is all about pushingone’s opinion right downs other’s throat. If a critic writes that this timearound Mr.Khan failed to offer anything new then he should just check his lifeinsurance with his agent because he will be piled with “litigations on socialmedia” by “joker fans” or might face death penalty.
I still remember after mega releases of one Mr. Khan andKumar last year. When couple of critics tore apart the films (believe me, thosefilms were really piece of crap), fans went berserk and ultimately portal hadto write another piece within hours praising the star. These “joker fans” havefull time job to protect their favorite stars do enjoy this madness, why willthey not!
Films are religion in India where a die-hard fan mightforget to visit God’s place every now and then but he watches his demigod’smovie at least 5-7 times in theater. Then he comes back on social network and doeshis best to prove everyone around that film was nothing short of a classic. This classic keeps hitting the cinemas in every two months or so and thispopulation is ever expanding.
There is no more any joy attached in watching this kind ofcinema which earns 100 cr riding on the back of run of the mill marketing and clichéBollywood masala. Plus if you have some “joker” around then things get evenworse and scary. You will not find many “jokers’ supporting a “Kahaani” or “PaanSingh Tomar” but then who cares about quality when it is all about flexing boxoffice muscle.
To be honest, there is no harm in worshipping a star whomyou adore but only worrisome thing is the blurred line between being a fan andbeing a fanatic. Loving a star is old phenomenon since the times of Raj Kapoorand Dev Anand but now there is no love but only the obsession.
So beware for next time when you think of writing somethingwhich can irk these “jokers” or saying something which can cause a fight inmiddle of screening (believe me, I witnessed that too last year while watchinga 100 cr blockbuster). But still I get sadistic fun in doing so and I am surethis write up will also get some nasty one from this bunch of “jokers”. Butthen “Tiger” and “Baadshah” should not fear anyone, what say!
P.S. - Use of JOKER & TIGERis purely unintentional and just reflects the sickness of few guys and supremacyof stars respectively.
