Monday, 4th May 2015, 10:43 PM IST Music Composer: Anupam Roy Lyricists: Manoj Yadav, Anupam Roy Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are all set to be on screen on 8th May to entertain us with their film ‘Piku’. The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar and also stars Irrfan Khan. After watching the promos of the film we can say that ‘Piku’ is a film that will attract the classes and that’s what the makers have kept in mind when it comes to music. The album starts with the track ‘Bezubaan’. A sweet soulful number which touches our heart thanks to its beautiful lyrics. Anupam’s voice in the track is just perfect and makes us feel a nice lovable atmosphere around us. Ratings: 3/5 Moving forward we get the song titled ‘Journey Song’. This one too is a soulful number, but a bit high on tempo. The track will surely make you feel lively and you too would like to go on a journey. The sweet Bengali lyrics in between really impress us and above all is Shreya Ghashal’s wonderful voice which mesmerizes us. Roy has also sung the track well, but it’s Shreya’s voice that takes the track to a higher level. Ratings: 3.5/5 ‘Lamhe Guzar Gaye’ is the next song in the album. It’s a slow moving track with drum beats and the fusion of a slow tempo song with drum beats in it goes quite well. Anupam Roy has sung the song well, but his voice becomes repetitive and that is a bit boring. Ratings: 2.5/5 Next comes in the title track ‘Piku’. It’s a very good number with poignant music and Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice gets a perfect energy in track. The lyrics are impressive and explains Deepika’s character very well. This is surely one of the best tracks of the album. Ratings: 3.5/5 The last song in the album is ‘Teri Meri Baatein’, a sweet romantic track. Well, the track offers nothing new; however, a folk touch in it grabs our attention very well. This song is also sung by Anupam Roy and that’s the negative factor of the track. The composer could have opted for someone else’s voice instead using his own voice in mostly all the tracks. Ratings: 2/5 On the whole, the music of ‘Piku’ is sweet and soulful, and will be loved by people who prefer heartwarming songs. Ratings: 3/5 Music Review By –
