Music Review: The Songs Of NEERJA Are Good And Complement The Movie’s Theme

Tuesday, 9th Feb 2016, 1:06 PM IST Music Composer: Vishal Khurana Lyricist: Prasoon Joshi Ram Madhvani’s ‘Neerja’ starring Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles is based on a true story of a flight attendant Neerja Bhanot. Neerja had saved the lives of people on a plane when it was hijacked. The movie will be releasing on 19th Feb and the music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with the track ‘Jeete Hain Chal’. It’s a wonderful number which has some hard-hitting beats as well as a subtlety in it. Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics stand out in the song. Kavita Seth does justice to the song with her great voice. Ratings: 3.5/5 The next song in the album is ‘Aankhein Milayenge Darr’. It has some really good beats which are high-on tempo. The music of the song is damn impressive and once again Joshi’s lyrics are excellent. K. Mohan has sung it amazingly. Even the voices in the chorus are just too good. Ratings: 3.5/5 Moving forward comes in ‘Gehra Ishq’, a romantic number. It’s a nice soulful track sung by Shekhar Ravjiani. Shekhar’s voice perfectly suits the song. The lyrics of the song are also quite good. Ratings: 3/5 The last song in the album is ‘Aisa Kyun Maa’. It’s a feel good emotional number that explains the relationship between Neerja and her mother. Sunidhi Chauhan has sung the track beautifully and Joshi’s lyrics once again impress us. Ratings: 3.5/5 Overall, the songs of ‘Neerja’ are good and complement the movie’s theme.
