Wednesday, 1st March 2016, 12:00 PM IST Alankrita Shrivastava, the director of the controversial film ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ has been honored with yet another International film festival award. The movie won the Audience Award at the Glasgow Film Festival 2017. Glasgow has only one category of awards and it is quite praiseworthy for an Indian film to get that award. However, at home the makers are fighting with the certification board. The movie is said to be not suitable for Indian audiences and currently the makers have moved to FCAT (Film Certification Appellate ribunal) for their review on it. On receiving the award, the director took a dig at CBFC for denying them a certificate. The movie has been screened at prestigious film festivals worldwide and has been receiving accolades from all around.
