Nitin Kakkar's debut film ‘Filmistaan’ hasn’t hit theatres as of yet, and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has already signed him for his next film. The film is set to be a love story and will go on floors later this year.

"Rakeysh and his team saw ‘Filmistaan’a few weeks ago and were impressed by Nitin's directorial prowess. They got in touch with him a few days back and he signed on the dotted line on Wednesday,"revealed a source.

The film has been written by a team of writers from Rakeysh Mehra's production house. The cast is yet to be chosen for the film.

Nitin confirmed the news saying, "Yes,it's true. It's a love story but not a regular one. It is a kind of film that doesn't have a genre. But I can assure you that it will be content driven."

When asked about his association with Mehra who has earlier made films like ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, Nitin said, "I am a big fan of his work and I am more than happy to direct a film for him. Our cinematic sensibilities align quite well."
