This study was done study exclusively for Hollywood, but the researchers said the method can be used for Bollywood as well. Luis Amaral who did the study said, "Directors keep coming back to movies that are significant. Ultimately, it is the creators, the filmmakers themselves, who determine which movies are important, not experts or critics." Aditya Chopra's ‘DDLJ’ is the longest running film of Bollywood. A beginning analysis based on the new method suggests that the SRK starrer would be at the top of the chart as the most impactful film. "The 50 citations for ‘DDLJ’ suggest this film has influenced many later films," Amaral said. An Indian film critic said, “‘DDLJ’ has had an immeasurable impact on Indian cinema and culture. Even 20 years after its release, movie-makers are taking inspiration from it." Javed Siddiqui, the dialogue writer of ‘DDLJ’ said, "It (‘DDLJ’) has immortalised Indian ethos and value system on the celluloid so beautifully. It will never be dated."
