The Makers Of BATTI GUL METER CHALU Wants Yami Gautam To Apologize?

Sunday, 4th February 2018, 02:00 PM IST Yami Gautam was roped in as one of the female leads in the social satire, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, also starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. This was quite a huge project for Yami, as it was produced by Prerna Arora, Red Chillies and T-Series and directed by Shree Narayan Singh of ‘Toilet - Ek Prem Katha’ fame. However, it looks there is trouble for Yami, thanks to her history with one of the producers. As per a report, it is rumoured that T-Series is not too happy about Yami Gautam being a part of the movie and wants her to be booted from the cast. Yami Gautam had earlier acted in one of their productions, Sanam Re, which was directed by Divya Khosla Kumar, the wife of Bhushan Kumar. Apparently, there was a fallout between Yami and Divya during the post-production of the movie, following which the production house had not signed her for any movie after that. A source close to the project revealed that the production house has still not forgiven Yami for the fight, and hence, do not want her to be a part of BGMC. The source revealed, “The producers were not keen on Yami joining the cast, but Prernaa, along with director Shree Narayan Singh, got the actress on board as they felt she suited the character. Apparently, she and Bhushan Kumar spoke about the issue and the banner wants an apology from Yami. Prernaa has asked Yami to apologise and move on. She even had a word with Bhushan’s team and tried to convince them to accept her as a member of the cast. Yami still feels strongly that she was right and doesn’t want to apologise. So, her saying sorry isn’t happening for sure. But, Prernaa is definitely going ahead with her for the film.” If this report is true, let's hope that things work out amicably between the star and the producers, and not let petty issues affect the making of the film. Shraddha essays the role of a North Indian girl in BGMC while both Yami Gautam and Shahid Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of a lawyer. Shraddha will play Shahid’s love interest and Yami on the other hand, has a pivotal role in the film. The project which deals with the topic on electricity shortage was earlier reported to go on floors in January but now will finally kick start in the second week of February.
