Wednesday, 13th September 2017, 06:00 PM IST Varun Dhawan has taken up one movie which had a grey shade in his entire career. The movie, ‘Badlapur’, also took a toll on him emotionally, but it also rewarded him for his performance was appreciated by one and all. It looks like Varun is ready to take the challenge again as one of his upcoming movies, ‘October’, directed by Shoojit Sircar, will be of a darker shade than ‘Badlapur’ too. Talking about the movie, Varun spoke, "Both these films might be in different spaces, but ‘October’ isn’t a light-hearted romantic film. It’s heartbreaking and dark, probably more niche than ‘Badlapur’." We earlier heard, "This film is dark and he won’t have any makeup. It’s going to be very real. It’s one of the things Varun likes about the film. Shoojit (Sircar) has designed his character really well." Director Shoojit Sircar also spoke about ‘October’ some time back. He said, "It is a genre that I have always wanted to delve in. While love and romance have been entwined with Indian cinema, there is abundance in that emotion that everyone can have their own interpretations of. Juhi Chaturvedi and I have always tried to create stories from the reflections of real life moments that we see around us. ‘October’ is another effort to explore those moments out of simple situations of life." Prior to ‘Badlapur’, Shoojit made a hard-hitting film ‘Pink’, which has left a mark on people’s minds. Varun on the other hand, has ‘Judwaa 2’ up for release and ‘Sui Dhaaga’, ‘Shiddat’ and ‘Dabba Gul’ in his kitty.
