Varun Mitra Exclusive Interview: JALEBI Is The Right Opportunity That I Have Got
| |||
Box Office Capsule had an amazing time interacting about the movie ‘Jalebi' with the debutante actor Varun Mitra. Read on to know the deets! 1. This is that kind of movie which will bring you on the map. Do you think it came to you on the right time? Absolutely, I think if it had come any sooner I might not be ready for it and if it had come sometime later, I would have gone crazy by then. I think I really got the right opportunity and I had learnt with all the mistakes I’ve done so yeah I think this was the right time. 2. You've acted in various ads, a film and a short movie before, how was Jalebi different from everything that you've done? It's different because it’s a big project. And in ads and short films, we shoot for 3-4 days at a time and I think I took it one day at a time in Jalebi also. If I would have thought it as a big project, I might have messed up with it. The only one thing I kept in mind was the graph of the character. It's only hitting me now when I'm getting calls from all those who never called me ever and I think now I understood the scale of how big this is happening. 3. Being totally unbiased, what do you think about the music of Jalebi? Where does it stand for you in the list of best music albums this year? I think Bhatt's music is unmatchable. Their music is emotionally stitched to the film. Each song is there for a reason and it creeps to your emotion and I think you will fall in love with the music more after you watch it. I have lived the movie so I can't help but love the music and even during shoots we used to use the songs to shoot the intense parts. I used to play songs on a loop on my headphones. Yeh Tera Mera Rishta being my favorite of all of them. 4. Something about Rhea Chakraborty, how hard or easy it was to work with her considering she has been around for quite a few years now. I think she didn’t let me feel like she was the senior. She didn’t bully me at all (laughs). 5. Jalebi is releasing with multiple movies at the box office but this has its target audience, do you think there will be any diversion in it? Fryday and Helicopter Eela. No, I think all three movies are of different genres. So anybody won't eat each others market. And the other two Govinda and Kajol are the megastars who have used the market. They both got their own market. I think our audience is hungry for good stuff and we are lucky that all three movies are of completely different genres. 6. Why is Jalebi different than any other Bollywood love story? Its is a different love story because generally love stories talk about till happily ever after and Jalebi talks about post happily ever after. It reflects the postmodern era that we are trying to be in at the moment. 7. Varun Mitra is a long distance runner, this is said by Mahesh Bhatt about you, how do you feel about it? For an actor to hear that after your first film and that too from Bhatt sahab I have already printed this article and this is definitely going to the wall of my room. 8. What's next after Jalebi? Have you signed anything or reading any scripts? I’ve been reading some of the scripts but till you don’t start shooting you never know what's it going to be. I have learnt not to even talk about it till it at least goes on the floors. Jalebi- The everlasting taste of love', starring Varun Mitra, Rhea Chakraborty, and Digangana Suryavanshi is presented by Vishesh films In Association with Mahesh Bhatt and Produced by Mukesh Bhatt and is slated to be released on October 12th, 2018.
