Saturday, 31st May 2014, 12:20 PM IST Vidya Balan, whose next film ‘Bobby Jasoos’ recently launched its trailer, has two more offers waiting for her. Both the offers are biopics –one on Carnatic singer and Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi and another one on India’s first female doctor, Rakmabai. While the former one is being directed by Rajeev Menon, the latter one is Ananth Mahadevan’s project. Ananth, who is on cloud 9 after the success of his recent release ‘The Xpose’, confirmed the news saying, “I met Vidya at her Juhu Tara Road apartment recently. She is caught between two biopics - Rajiv Menon's biopic on Carnatic singer and Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi and Rakmabai's. I'm really keen on her but I don't want to push her. I will meet her one more time and maybe show her the biopic I'm making on the freedom fighter Gauri Hari Das. If things don't work out, I'll consider someone else." Thus, there could be another biopic too, that Vidya could go through – that of freedom fighter Gauri Hari Das’. Meanwhile, Menon's movie has run into legal issues with Dr MP Somaprasad, who has the written consent and rights to make a movie on Subbulakshmi getting an injunction order against Rajiv. So Ananth can still be hopeful to get Vidya on board. During the course of his research, Ananth discovered that while Anandi Joshi was India's first qualified doctor, she never practiced medicine and died of smallpox. Rakmabai’s story narrates how she who got married off at the age of 11, fought the world with a lot of guts and courage to become a doctor. | |||
