Monday, 27th April 2015, 1:29 PM IST Music Directors: Chirantan Bhatt, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Manj Musik Lyricists: Manoj Yadav, Kumaar, Sahil Kaushal, Manj Musik, Raftaar, Big Dhillon After tasting success with ‘Baby’, Akshay Kumar is back with ‘Gabbar Is Back’. The movie is slated to release on 1st May and tackles the issue of corruption in the country. The movie also stars Shruti Haasan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (cameo). The music of the film is out, so let’s check out what’s there in store. The album starts with the romantic number ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’. It’s a fantastic romantic number with high-on energy beats. The song is different from the romantic numbers that release lately. The tempo of the track is fast, but it succeeds in giving us the romantic feel very well. Chirantan Bhatt has really come up with something unique when it comes to romantic songs. Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal’s voice take the track to a higher level. Manoj Yadav’s lyrics are also fantastic. Ratings: 4/5 Moving forward once again we get a romantic track titled ‘Coffee Peetey Peetey’. It’s a sweet soulful song which successfully takes us in the romantic mood. But, this track fails to reach the level of previous one. As the first song in the album was so good our expectations from other songs were high. This does not mean that the song is unimpressive; it’s just that it doesn’t recreate the magic of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’. However, vocals of Dev Negi and Paroma Das Gupta make the song worth listening. Ratings: 3/5 And now, get ready to dance with the next track. Titled as ‘Aao Raja’, the song is a perfect masala item number. However, what surprises us is that this masala number is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. It’s very different from what the music composer has done till date. And he has composed this masala number very well. It can be said as one of the best works of Yo Yo. For this masala item number, voice of Neha Kakkar is just perfect. It won’t be surprising if soon all the item songs are sung by her. Ratings: 4.5/5 And last, but not the least we have the song ‘Warna Gabbar Aa Jayega’. It’s a peppy track which very well explains the theme of the film. The dialogues of Gabbar from ‘Sholay’ are used in this song and that impresses us very well. Manj Musik has come up with a typical Akshay Kumar track which has classy peppy music and massy lyrics. Manj Musik and Raftaar have sung the song well. Ratings: 3.5/5 On the whole, music album of ‘Gabbar Is Back’ is exceptionally entertaining. It has everything a music lover wants, from romantic numbers to foot tapping tracks.
