Saturday, 30th May 2015, 1:43 PM IST Mohammed Azharuddin and Sachin Tendulkar shared a great professional association for more than a decade, spanning 223 ODIs and 69 Tests. However, in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming film, ‘Azhar’, Sachin's contribution to the former Indian captain's career won’t be explored in detail. A source close to the development informed that the makers were clear that the movie is about Azhar's life and times, and not about any other cricketer. The movie is divided into three segments as is explained in the teaser through Emraan Hashmi's voiceover: "Mera khuda hai ek, biwiyaan hain do, aur mujh par match-fixing ke aarop teen." According to the source, earlier the makers were contemplating on giving Sachin a substantial role in the narrative, but now it will just a cameo. "The film delves more on the sensational aspects of Azhar's life than his playing career," explained the source. Without giving out much details, the film's writer Rajat Arora said, "Many cricketers will be seen but at this point, I cannot comment on the length of anyone's role." The source informed that Manoj Prabhakar, Ravi Shastri, and even Sachin's part will most likely be played by newcomers who are yet to be finalised.
