Rumours Of Kangana Ranaut Asking For Director’s Credit In RANGOON Are Rubbish

Thursday, 3rd Sept 2015, 2:39 PM IST There was a buzz that Kangana Ranaut has asked the makers of ‘Rangoon’ to give her the credit of co-director for the film. However, sources close to the film and Kangana’s sister, Rangoli Ranaut, have rubbished the reports. The movie is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and a source from the production house said, "This is sheer rubbish. There is no such request, demand or indication from her. At our end, we too know that Kangana isn't someone who thinks like that. She is a young woman who has found her standing in the industry by coming from nowhere." A senior official from director Vishal Bhardwaj's team said, "These are just means distract her but we are confident that she is made of steely stuff. We are happy that she is associated with us on ‘Rangoon’." A source close to the actress said, "It is as simple as that - professional rivalry. Even after ‘Queen’, a few were not willing to take her seriously. However, with ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ being the second Blockbuster of the year other than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, she is the only actor other than Salman Khan to have demonstrated great fan following. Now her ‘Katti Batti’ is looking good too. Since she is bagging plum projects and ‘Rangoon’ is one of the biggest offerings for 2016, a few actresses are trying to sabotage her career or just play mischief by spreading these rumours." Talking about rumours, Kangana’s sister Rangoli said, "I am sure she has better things to do though than worry. In any case, just imagine why would Kangana be even thinking of credit as a director alongside Vishal? She is doing superb as an actor and when she would direct a movie eventually, it would be entirely her own. Vishal's script is being developed for years and it is flawless. It just can't be touched, let alone being handled by anyone else. It would be sacrilege for anyone else to step in." "Honestly, we all have a hearty laugh each time a piece like this appears. Please, Kangana is happy in her space and let others enjoy their own. There is place for everyone to do good work in the industry. Let's not try to intrude please," added Rangoli.
