Abhishek Kapoor Clarifies About Rekha’s Exit From FITOOR

Saturday, 7th Nov 2015, 1:37 PM IST There were reports that Rekha had walked out of Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Fitoor’ as she was not happy with the film’s rushes and her look in the film was not up to the mark. However, Abhishek recently clarified about Rekha’s exit from the film. He said, "People want to see more in it than it actually is. We were very excited about Rekhji doing our film. Character that she was playing or what Tabu has played now is a very complex one. It is a huge and very important part in the film. Theoretically, Rekhaji and I jammed on it and went for the shooting but then we realised that we didn’t see it in the same way and so it was better that we just agreed to disagree. We just shot for two to three days and I felt this was the not the film for Rekhaji and me to collaborate on. It had to do something with the technicalities about how the character should be approached. And it was better to part ways, to separate at this stage rather than suffer through and through and not move ahead. Fortunately for me, Tabu was available and she loved the part and took it up." When Abhishek was asked if there’s any animosity between him and the ‘Silsila’ actress, the director said, “No, not at all. Rekhaji is a wonderful and generous lady. Most people don’t know much about her but I had the great experience of working closely with her. Unfortunately, it did not materialise but I have the highest amount of love and respect for her.” Now you can enjoy ad-free experience by downloading India’s first Box Office mobile app from here –Android: http://bit.ly/BOCapsuleMobileApp and iOS: bit.ly/BOCapsuleiOSApp |
