Monday, 16th Nov 2015, 2:54 PM IST Lyricist: Irshad Kamil Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, is all set to hit the screens on 27th Nov. The music of ‘Tamasha’ is composed by A. R. Rahman and it is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with a lively number titled ‘Matargashti’. It’s a fun number with some classy beats which has a usual Rahman feel to it. Mohit Chauhan’s voice in the track is top-notch and Irshad Kamil’s lyrics are impressive. Ratings: 3/5 The next song in the album is ‘Heer Toh Badi Sad Hai’. It is one of the best tracks in the album and for the first time a sad song is presented in a happy way and with such vivacious music. The lyrics of the track are also quite unique. Mika Singh and Nakash Aziz’s vocals take the track to better level. Ratings: 4/5 After two energetic numbers, next comes in ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’, an emotional romantic track with soulful music. The lyrics of the track are heart touching. The best element of the song is Alka Yagnik’s voice. Her voice successfully makes us emotional. Arijit Singh has supported wonderfully with his voice. This one is the best track of the album. Ratings: 5/5 Moving forward comes in a track titled ‘Wat Wat Wat’. It fails to reach the expectations we had after hearing the first three songs of the album. The music of the song offers nothing great and bores us. Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh fail to impress us with their voices. There is another version of the song titled as ‘Wat Wat Wat Vengeance Mix’. This one too is irritating. Ratings: 1/5 Next comes in ‘Chali Kahani’ which once again escalates the level of the album. It’s a fantastic number with a touch of classical music in it. The track narrates several eternal love stories in a quirky way. Sukhwinder Singh, Haricharan and Haripriya have sung the track wonderfully. Ratings: 4/5 The next song in the album is ‘Safarnama’, a soft sweet number which doesn’t really offer anything amazing. But, there’s a sense of subtlety in the song which impresses us. Lucky Ali’s voice perfectly gels well with the number. Ratings: 2.5/5 ‘Parade De La Bastille’ is an instrumental and is mixture of all the tracks together. It sums up the whole album. Rahman does a good job with it. Ratings: 3/5 The last song in the album is ‘Tu Koi Aur Hai’. It’s a track that explains the storyline of the film with its lyrics. The music of the song is soulful and the tempo is very low. A. R. Rahman, Alma Ferovic and Arjun Chandy’s vocals are nice in the track. Ratings: 3/5 Overall, music album of ‘Tamasha’ is impressive with a variety of songs. Ratings: 3.5/5 Music Review By –
