Wednesday, 2nd Mar 2016, 4:58 PM IST Shahrukh Khan’s character in ‘Raees’ is apparently inspired by Abdul Latif, an alleged gangster who ran the illegal liquor business in Gujarat during the peak of Prohibition in the 1990s. The son of Abdul Latif, Mustak Ahmed Abdul Latif Shaikh, has sent legal notices to 9 people involved with the film including SRK, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Rahul Dholakia asking how or why a movie on his father's life is being made. The legal notice advises the team of ‘Raees’ to, "Stop and desist notice from screening, promoting, releasing, publicizing, advertising and exploiting the Hindi film titled Raees." According to the grapevine, even the set representing SRK's house that was erected in Film City was a copy of Abdul’s residence.
