Vidya Balan Starrer BEGUM JAAN In Woes After Some Departments Quit

Wednesday, 25th May 2016, 05:10 PM IST Reportedly, the film ‘Begum Jaan’ is in trouble as several departmental heads have walked out of the venture. The movie will be a Hindi remake of the Bengali movie ‘Rajkahini’. The movie is produced by Bhatt Camp and stars Vidya Balan in the lead role. Reports state the reason behind the same is financial crisis, which have affected three major departments of filmmaking. Cinematographer Ravi Chandran, costume designer Payal Saluja and production designer Amit Ray have walked out of the movie. The movie was supposed to be shot in Punjab, later it shifted to Hyderabad, then Rajasthan and finally in Kolkata, West Bengal like the original film Filmmakers are hunting for replacements for the teams while the work on the sets has started since May 17 in Kolkata. ‘Begum Jaan’ revolves around the heart touching story of women at a brothel who decide to save their home during the partition war.
