Bihar Government Lures Bollywood Filmmakers With Subsidy Of 3 Crores

Wednesday, 1st June 2016, 02:00 PM IST The Bihar government has announced a Rs 3-crore subsidy to filmmakers. The state government wants to promote the state as a destination for film shoots to enhance regional cinema and boost the local talent. Several Bihar Government delegates are to arrive at Mumbai to discuss the details of the initiative. The final details will be discussed with the film fraternity. The closed-door discussion will be held at a suburban five-star. Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker and Censor Board member, said, "The Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) is organizing the meeting between the delegation from Bihar and producers and directors from film and TV industry in Mumbai. It appeared best that the people who will work together meet face-to-face to discuss the hurdles and the possibilities. The idea is to make the shooting process as smooth as possible.” Veteran filmmakers like Shyam Benegal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ketan Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Anil Sharma, Ramesh Sippy, Rajkumar Santoshi and Aneez Bazmi, among others, will be present at the meeting.
