Music Composers: Amaal Mallik Lyricists: Manoj Muntashir “Dhoni” directed by Neeraj Pandey is a true story based on the life of Indian cricketer and the current ODI and T20I captain of the Indian national cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It stars Sushant Singh Rajput as Dhoni and Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, and Anupam Kher in supporting roles .Scheduled for a world wide release on Sep 30th, 2016. Lets listen to the Album and find out if it turns out to be the most successful album of the year just like our Captain Cool does. The album starts with the slow song ‘Besabriyan’ sung by Amaal Mallik’s most trusted singer Armaan Mallik. A beautiful composition to which Armaan does complete justice by singing it in his blissful style of singing and making this one a hummable composition. The Lyrics by Manoj Muntashir are written in his perfect style keeping them simple & humble yet powerful & meaningful. Ratings: 3/5 The next one is a Romantic song ‘Kaun Tujhe’ sung by the gracious Payal Muchhal singing this one gracefully in her sugary voice. The lyrics penned down by Manoj Muntashir & the composition by Amaal Mallik only adds to the sweetness. A nice composition for the film however leaves nothing much to get it registered in a listeners mind for long. Ratings: 2/5 ‘Jab Tak’ is the third song of the album sung by Armaan Mallik in his romantic subdued voice. Amaal Mallik’s composition is dreamy but still sounds ordinary. This one also has a redux version. Ratings: 2/5 The fourth one is ‘Phir Kabhi’ in Arijit Singh’s voice is a melodious romantic track leaves you feeling lighthearted and all in love. Impressively written by Manoj Muntashir and lovingly composed by Amaal Mallik making this a joyous one. Ratings: 3/5 ‘Parwah Nahi’ is a song with a complete rock treatment by Amaal Mallik. Sung by Siddharth Basrur in a very outrageous voice and style of singing depicting Mahi’s care a damn & carefree attitude. Surely not one of my favourite’s and lacks appeal. Ratings: 2/5 The last track ‘Padhoge Likhoge’ is a fun paced one sung by the little one’s Ananya Nanda & Adithyan A Prithviraj. Based on the very old saying & used on each one of us by our parents at some point in time in our life span. That’s all I have to say about this one. Ratings: 2/5 The music album of ‘Dhoni’ by the Music composer Amaal Mallik is a very basic one. We have seen greater work from him in the past. The first look of the film has comes across as a strong & impressive work of art from the director Neeraj Pandey on the life of the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team M.S Dhoni .However it does lack behind musically taking music lovers for granted which is not a very good idea.
