Wednesday, 16th November 2016, 03:00 PM IST After producing Sooraj Pancholi starrer ‘Hero’, Salman Khan will be producing a film titled ‘Lions Of The Sea’. The movie will be based on the infamous Komagata Maru incident. In 1914, a ship with 370 Indians on board was headed to Canada, where they were denied entry. Irrfan Khan is roped in to play the lead role of the man who fought the racial discrimination. The reports were confirmed by Amar Butala, Chief Operating Officer, SKF. He said, “’Lions of the Sea’ is a film that depicts heroism of all those who were on board and challenged the racial policies of the British Empire… It’s a powerful human story of struggle and triumph in which Irrfan will play a Sikh named Gurdit Singh. The story of those Sardars, Muslims and Hindus is relevant even today as we hear and read about the refugee crisis and racial profiling constantly. We have begun work on the preproduction and will announce the director and the rest of the cast in the next few days.” Now you can enjoy ad-free experience by downloading India’sfirst Box Office mobile app from here –Android: http://bit.ly/BOCapsuleMobileApp and iOS: bit.ly/BOCapsuleiOSApp |
