He was pointed out for being strict with films like ‘Tamasha’, James Bond’s ‘Spectre’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Also, many pointed fingers at him after he allowed 27 kisses and Ranveer Singh’s bare butt scene in ‘Befikre’. Many alleged that he maintains double standards. Speaking about KJo’s upcoming romantic movie ‘OK Jaanu’, the Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor flick has numerous kisses which will face the strict scanner of CBFC. Pahlaj opened up about the upcoming movie and said, “The film that you mention has not come to us as yet. And we are certainly not going to certify it keeping ‘Befikre’ in mind as a yardstick. Nothing like, ‘Agar uske paas 20 kisses hain toh mere paas 10 (‘If they have 20 kisses, we have 10’.) Every film will be certified on its individual merit.” He further said, “Let him come to the censors with ‘Ok Jaanu’, ekdum befikre.
