Friday, 17th February 12:00 PM IST THE GHAZI ATTACK Is Intriguing War Thriller
Kay Kay Menon is fab, Rana Daggubati is good, Atul Kulkarni is effective, Om Puri abd Nasser are decent in brief roles, neat vfx, authentic art design Minuses: edit is below par, slow paced at places
Verdict: Detailed Analysis: War films are rarely made in India but this one presents an untold story from pages of history. In 1971, a Pakistani submarine called the PNS Ghazi ventured into Indian waters with the ambition of destroying the INS Vikrant. What stopped them? The heroes aboard the Indian submarine S-21. It is the war you did not know about. Performance wise Kay Kay Menon is first grade with smart, impressive and balance act. Rana Daggubati is effective though falls short in dialogue delivery. Atul Kulkarni is fab and so are supporting actors like Om Puri and Naaser. Taapsee Pannu has nothing to do.
Costumes are okay and it is well shot film. Action is also pulsating. VFX deserves special mention. Director Sankalp Reddy has delivered a well made intetesting film about not so well known event from history. |
