Taapsee Pannu On Kangana Ranaut Controversy: ‘So-Called’ Outsiders Are Not Helpless

Sunday, 12th March 2017, 7:15 PM IST As you might be aware, Kangana Ranaut has landed herself into another controversy with her nepotism remark on Koffee With Karan. Kangana claimed that it is difficult to survive in the industry with male chauvinists like Karan Johar and for that she has to play whatever card needed. Actress Taapsee Pannu however is of a different opinion as she says outsiders are not helpess. “The debate about nepotism will always be there. We can never do away with it but we have reached a point where the ‘so-called’ outsiders are not helpless. We do have people who recognise our talent like Shoojit da (Shoojit Sircar), Neeraj sir and Shivam sir (Shivam Nair, director of Naam Shabana). They have come up to me and they have worked with me again. Even David sir for that matter, whose own son (Varun Dhawan) is in the industry. He has launched me and is working with me again. You don’t feel the step-motherly attitude anymore,” Taapsee said at her upcoming movie ‘Naam Shabana’ promotions. Further elaborating, the ‘Pink’ actress said, “I was excited thinking that a two-film-old girl can also get the lead role. So, this means all those things we hear about the film industry that it’s very difficult to get (such opportunities), is not true.” Now you can enjoy ad-free experience by downloading India’s first Box Office mobile app from here –Android: http://bit.ly/BOCapsuleMobileApp and iOS: bit.ly/BOCapsuleiOSApp |
