BABUMOSHAI BANDOOKBAAZ Cleared With 8 Cuts

It appears that Pahlaj Nihalani stepping out of CBFC is a big relief for the makers of ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, as the movie is cleared with 8 cuts. The director Kushan Nandy confirmed on Twitter that the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) made 8 minor, voluntary cuts. His tweet read, “FCAT clears #BabumoshaiBandookbaaz with 8 minor, voluntary cuts. Despite #PahlajNihalani 's last letter to stop it. See you on 25th August.” Also thanking those who stood by him, he further wrote, “Thank you @DirectorsIFTDA @ashokepandit @rahuldholakia, Vikramaditya, Motwane, AbhishekChaubey, @IAmSudhirMishra @anubhavsinha +1”, “.. @satishkaushik2 @alankrita601, MadhuMantena, @Suparn @DhoopAshwini @AuteurPravesh and each and every one who stood by us. +2” & “.. and a big thank you to the entire media for supporting us throughout the entire battle. No amount of gratitude is enough.” 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' had run into trouble with the CBFC in former Chief Pahlaj Nihalani’s orders, who raised objections to the cuss words and some scenes in the film. Not only the director, but the lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui too defended the movie saying the abuses in the film were justified as they make the characters more authentic. However, the CBFC argued that it was not suited for children who come to watch a movie in theatres. Also featuring actors Bidita Bag and Shradha Das, the movie will hit the screens on August 25, along with Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer ‘A Gentleman’.
