Thursday, 24th August 2017, 05:00 PM IST Ayan Mukerji's superhero film 'Dragon' seems to have a very low pace in regards to development stage. Box-office dry first half seems to be the reason. 'Dragon', which was all set to bring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together for the first time, had to take a huge budget cut, if sources are to be believed. Karan Johar, who is producing 'Dragon' under his banner Dharma Productions, was skeptical to make the film with its original budget of Rs 120 crore. The failure of Ranbir's last release, 'Jagga Jasoos', also being considered as the reason for cut. A source said, "Karan gave Ayan a choice. Either take a budgetary cut or shut down the film. It hasn't been a good phase for Ranbir. And the last thing that Karan wants on his hands is another 'Jagga Jasoos'." With this, Ayan will have to let go of his big plans. After numerous delays, 'Dragon' is supposed to start rolling by the end of this year.
