Read on for the deets. 1.What attracts you the most when you select any script? Honestly, the content attracts me the most. It doesn’t matter if the role is big or small. I believe that the content is king. So the first thing I look at is the story no matter how heavy or small my character is. Even in 'Made In Heaven', my character was very small but them it was impactful that people observed me in that small part also. 2.Do you believe that the taste of the audience is improving in terms of movies? I think both are working. I think blockbuster movies of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will always work. That is our Indian culture which can’t be changed now. And there’s nothing wrong with that too. It’s just that because of content wali movie acha kar rahi hai isliye audience bhi change ho rahi hai. If these movies won’t do well then you never know. The time for the good actors is here now. 3.You think OTT platforms are killing the charm of Bollywood cinema? I think web series has given work to the actors. The thing is in our country, mass appeal is very important. And in small towns, the movie goes first. I don’t think the web series is the trend in those small places. Films will live forever. Web series you don’t know till when it will be running. 4.Can you tell us something about your character in Marzi? What I loved about the character was the graph. What you see in the first episode then what you see in the last episode is a shocker. You would not have imagined that this would be her. This was the roller coaster ride for me. And the director is so amazing, he will just change the way you look at the scene. The role in the Marzi was very challenging, the stories are so intense that we went through the workshop as well. 5.After Angry Indian Goddesses, how was your reaction looking at the public responses? In India, small movies 4-5 years ago wasn’t that effective as they are today. Internationally the reaction was insane. People were coming around and hugging me telling me that the story is so relatable. We were blown away that the response will be so big. And even today, I get messages about it. 6.You took a break from acting for two years, do you think you have lost some opportunities in these years? I don’t think like that. Even if I have lost on some opportunities, I have got something really important, which is my daughter. I could not have done it any other way. And now I am back with a bang and I am working on various projects so I am very excited about it. |
