Anand Kumar: Hrithik Roshan will be able to do justice to my role

Anand Kumar is an Indian educationalist and mathematician best known for his Super 30 programme. ‘Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan, is based on the life of Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30. Recently, we got an opportunity to interact with Anand Kumar in a group interview where he spoke about how he was approached, how Hrithik Roshan came on board and more about the movie. Read on to know the deets. When asked about how the whole process started and how he was approached by the producers, Anand Kumar said, “The whole process started 9 years back when Mr. Sanjeev Dutta, (scriptwriter) was contemplating about his next film and that’s when he came across one of my Television interview where I was talking about my Super 30 program and that’s when Sanjeev Dutta decided to make a film on this subject. He called me up and pitched the idea but nothing materialized as they were busy with other movies- ‘Barfi’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, and everything was on the backburner." He went on to say, “It was just 3 years back when I was again approached by Mr. Sanjeev Dutta and I was called to Mumbai but I had my 4 conditions. I will decide the director, the actor, script and the music director for this movie and they easily agreed." On being asked how Hrithik Roshan came on board, he said, “Many actors came forward and said, we can do this and we can easily portray the role but it was only Hrithik Roshan who found it very challenging and asked for a year to prepare for the role. Hrithik’s dedication and enthusiasm made me decide that, Yes! He will be able to do justice to my role." The film is directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Phantom Films, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment. The film is set to release on 12 July 2019.
