Release Date Finalized For Vicky Kaushal’s Udham Singh Biopic

By Nikhil Bisoi - June 17, 2019 After impressing the audience, critics and the film fraternity with his versatile acting skills in movies, 'Raazi', 'Sanju', 'Manmarziyaan' and now his recent 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' which turned out to be a massive hit, the actor is now working on the upcoming Udham Singh biopic that is being directed by Shoojit Sircar. Now, according to the information, the director has confirmed the release date of the film. As per the report, the movie, titled ‘Sardar Udham Singh’, will hit the screen on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi October 2 in 2020. He said, “Yes, we will be releasing the film on October 2, 2020. Keeping in mind the remaining shoot schedule, post-production and the time required to complete the film, my producers and good friends Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar advised this date for a feasible release next year and I have decided to go with it.” The first schedule of the biopic was wrapped up in May and the second schedule will kick start in October. Talking about the same, a source said, "It will be four-month shoot. A major chunk of the film will be wrapped up by January." The report also stated that the film will be shot in locations like Russia, the United Kingdom, Europe and North India. The film is based on Indian revolutionary, Udham Singh, who shot Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer, Michael O’Dwyer, the lieutenant governor of Punjab, dead to avenge the infamous Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919. Apart from this biopic, Vicky will feature in Karan Johar's upcoming period drama 'Takht' and debutante Bhanu Pratap Singh's horror feature 'Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship'.
