After Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif walked out of Karan Johar’s film ‘Shuddhi’, the filmmaker has been frantically searching for a new lead pair.

Reports had surfaced that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone would be the chosen ones, but KJo never confirmed the news.Later on it was found out that the two chose Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Bajirao Mastani’ instead, which was also scheduled for a 2015 Christmas release.

Now, buzz is that Karan has spoken to Salman Khan about the role. Apparently, ten days ago, Karan drove to Salman’s Bandra residence to discuss the script of ‘Shuddhi’ and the meeting ended up on a positive note.

“Salman loved the story but they have yet to discuss dates and money. Karan has wanted to cast Salman for years. It could finally happen. The modalities are being worked out now," said a source.
