Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani’ has become the first film under the Yash Raj Film banner to get an A certificate. The film was granted an adult certificate with a few cuts which include nude scenes and abusive language.

The film deals with human trafficking and features Rani as a police officer. A source says, “The film deals with child-trafficking and prostitution. This is why the film has been issued an A certificate.’’

In fact, Yash Raj Films has not applied for a re-certification so far.

“Muting has been done away with now, so the Censor Board has just asked the makers to delete the objectionable words," the source added.

‘Mardaani’is directed by Pradeep Sarkar and it stars Rani Mukerji and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The film is slated to release on August 22.
