Tuesday, 25th Nov 2014, 2:27 PM IST Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, will have two separate versions – one for Indian audience, and the other for global audience. The international cut is being edited in Los Angeles by Oscar winning film editor, Thelma Colbert Schoonmaker.
A source close to the development informed, "It was crucial for ‘Bombay Velvet’ to have two versions as it is going to have the widest worldwide release for a Hindi film ever with systematic releases being planned in Europe over the summer. The international version is being edited by Schoonmaker. The decision was taken as the team felt that someone of her stature could bring in a truly refreshing and global perspective to Anurag's period love story. Both LA and Mumbai are in constant touch."
The Indian version is being edited by Prerna Saigal, who has been an associate director on noted films like ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Peddlers’, which she also edited. The editing is going on in Mumbai.
