Tuesday, 25th Nov 2014, 4:43 PM IST Emraan Hashmi, who will be next seen in Dharma Productions’ ‘Ungli’, at a recent promotional event took a dig at Aamir Khan’s social cause. Since Emraan’s films are often replete with item numbers and kisses, he was asked about Aamir Khan dedicating an episode on his show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ on women being objectified in movies. Aamir had also said that he would have sessions over these issues with the film fraternity. On this, Emraan said tongue-in-cheek, “Maybe because he doesn’t have item numbers in his films he robs a bank on a bike. He’s glamourising bank robbery instead.”
He further said, “You have to understand that films are for entertainment… unless it’s very demeaning for a woman, which I would stand against; but then we have the Censor Board for that. You can’t be cautious because you can end up making boring films. You have to take cinematic liberties.”
Talking about the story of the film, Emraan said that it’s “the story of friends from different walks of life who become kind of vigilantes to fight injustice and corruption.” Now you can enjoy ad-free experience by downloading India’s first Box Office mobile app from here –Android: http://bit.ly/BOCapsuleMobileApp and iOS: bit.ly/BOCapsuleiOSApp |
