Riva VFX And Animation Team Delights Makers Of PK And BABY

The year 2015 seem to have started on a happy note for Riva VFX & Animation who have caught the interest of several prominent Directors for their forthcoming projects after the raving success of their first projected executed for Rajkumar Hirani’s PK. “I will work with Viral forever” says a pleased Rajkumar Hirani, “Viral and his team at Riva has delivered far beyond my expectation, giving me the confidence to go on when I felt challenged in shooting sequences which were next to impossible or difficult like the train blast sequence and also putting together the opening sequence with the spaceship enveloped in a cloud landing”. “We are equally delighted to have been a part of the making of the film PK, and the opportunity to have worked with a visionary director like Rajkumar Hirani.” says Viral Thakkar, Creative Head & Partner at Riva. The team spent over 3 months in R&D and putting together the different elements for the opening sequence.” says Sudhir Trivedi, Head of CGI at Riva. “Also the character PK had one quirky trait which were the protruding ears, and during one particular sequence, he wiggles his ears, such and more sequences were entirely created in CG.“ Prashanth Thakur, the VFX Supervisor has had his fair share of challenges he faced for several top-ranking Bollywood film in the past, “ Our brief was to keep the film looking as realistic as possible and not take away from the film’s story- telling, which was largely focused on emotions, values & learning. The visual effects subtly filtered into the film’s screenplay and in no way makes it appear large and intimidating.” Today the film has been embraced by audiences the world over, and has shattered all box office records. The cast and crew of the film are extremely pleased with its success. “Our portfolio of projects in India is a great supplement to our international projects. India has tremendous potential, both in terms of the pool of talent available and a growing market for high-end visual effects & animation.
