She told reporters at an event, “I am sohappy with the response to 'Mardaani'. Many people have asked me why the filmhas been given an A-certificate. I am going to put in all my effort tore-certify ‘Mardaani’, which will make a huge difference.” She further added,“This is very sad and disappointing. So many people have called me and saidit’s so sad that they can’t show the film to their children and that they arewaiting for the film’s DVDs so that their children can also watch it.” Rani is currently campaigning for a new categorythat allows children above 12 years to watch films like ‘Mardaani’. Now, onbehest of viewers and NGOs Rani will take the film to the censor board again toget it re-certified. She says, “I have people from NGOs who want to show thefilm to the children. So I will take a letter from them to the censor board. Wehave made the film for kids to spread awareness. I don’t know why we are shyingaway from reality. Had we wanted a U/A certificate, we could have easily gotthat by chopping a few scenes, but that’s not the point. We want 12 years andabove kids to watch the film.” |
