Wednesday, 4th June 2014, 05:50 PM IST Azure Entertainment has officially purchased the remake rights of 2010 French thriller ‘Point Blank’. It will now be remade in Hindi and will be directed by veteran cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. Ravi, who recently directed his first Tamil film ‘Yaan’, will be making his directorial debut in Hindi cinema with this film.
Ravi confirmed the news saying, “The story would make for a great Bollywood film as it has a lot of action with a strong emotional core. We are currently working on the script and we will begin casting by the end of the month. I watched the film a few years ago without English subtitles and yet, connected with the plot.”
However, Ravi will not be the cinematographer for this film. He further informed, “Manush Nandan, who is currently filming ‘Happy New Year’, will shoot it. There will be another version in Tamil, which will show a different perspective on the same story.”
Producer Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment said, “Although the story will be completely reconceptualised to suit the Indian milieu, the essential idea remains, which is why it was important to get the rights. The film should be in production by 2015.” |
