“TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA” Is Sweet But Routine Film
Genelia delivers a jaw dropping performance, she is sweet, believable and yet charming, Riteish is not bad either and acts well his part, music is USP of the film and keeps the momentum in proceedings
Film borrows too many elements from recent hits like “Jab We Met” in terms of treatment and characterization, script moves slowly for most og the part and editing is lacllusture, cinematography is routine, Tinu Anand sleepwalks in his role, direction is too typical and lacks imagination
Verdict: Watch it for lively performance from Genelia (in case you really going to watch it)
Rating: 2/5 Detail Analysis: Film starts off well remains true to it’s genre through most of it’s running time but the problem lies in typical tratment and routine screenplay. It looks bad to see Genelia giving such an honest and natural performance in such a lazy written film. Riteish tries to rise above his usual self but he is not solo hero material and we know that already. Songs are melodious and used well in narrative.
Characteriitzation of Riteish as wannabe and day dreamer suits him but his histrioinics are repetetive. His chemistry with Genelia is good but does not leave any special moments or sparks for the audience. Camera work is poor so the editing. One wonders that director is so busy copying everything from Imtiaz Ali kind of cinema that he left his hold from all technical aspects.
Film works as sweet small town love story but will find it tough at box office in metros especially against “Jodi Breakers’, other release of the week.
