“FERRARI KI SAWAARI” Has Heart In Right Place
Sharman’s best performance till date, child actor Ritwik Sahore makes a smashing debut, Boman Irani is as usual dependable performer,Paresh Rawal leaves an impact
Slow narrative, too melodramatic at places, climax is far from convincing, music breaks the flow of the film
Watch it for warmth of the father and son relationship
“Ferrari Ki Sawaari” is one more warm and noble story from Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Film has clear shades of “Munnabhai Series” and “3 Idiots”. Protagonist is innocent and honest father played by Sharman Joshi. His father Boman Irani is a funny and cynical guy in his own ways. And how these two guys shape the future and fulfill dreams of youngest man in the house forms the rest of the story.
In terms of performance, every actor delivers an honest and credible act. But no doubt Sharman Joshi stands out with the best performance of his career. His moments with his son tug your heart and on contrary his relationship with his father leaves you in splits. This film will establish Sharman as one of the finest actors of present lot. Boman Irani surprises you in one film after another with his inspired acts. He simply steals the scenes with his histrionics and persona. Paresh Rawal too leaves an impact in rather brief appearance. Child actor Ritwik is new find and looks confident in front of camera.
Music of the film goes with narrative of the film but to be honest breaks the flow of the film at places. “Maara Re” lifts the mood of the film and title song is not too bad either. Vidya Balan provides required zing to the proceedings with her item number “Mala Jau De”. The cinematography by Sudheer Palsane is luminous while dialogue by Rajkumar Hirani seems straight out of life.
But real hero is taut script and tight direction. Script never goes into unwanted territories or gets boring. It has too many warm and real moments to keep you hooked. Direction by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar needs to be applauded as he almost follows his master’ work (Rajkumar Hirani’s earlierfilms) and succeeds in creating a real sweet story which delivers message too in a subtle way.
Go ride this Ferrari and you will come out smiling!
