“MAXIMUM” Is A Routine Cop Saga
Naseerudin Shah is top notch as always, Sonu Sood delivers an intense performance, first half is interesting and holds your attention
Boring music, uninteresting 2nd half, artificial filmsy climax, Vinay Pathak sleepwalks and so does Neha Dhupia
Watch it only if you love every other cop drama
“Maximum” is a crime drama revolving around two encounter specialists who want to overpower one another. Film is directed by written and directed by Kabeer Kaushik who directed another cop film "Sahar" starring Arshad Warsi.
But this one is not half good as was "Sahar". Film starts with a promise and first half an hour makes you believe that director had done immense research on the topic. But film becomes boring and there are same sort of encounters one after another. Naseerudin and Sonu Sood deliver stellar performance but Vinay Pathak in the role of north Indian leader looks jaded. Neha Dhupia simply sleepwalks in the role of housewife to Sonu's character and other sidekicks are just passable.
Songs are there to test the patience of audience and item song featuring Hazel "Aa Ante Amlapuram" is unnecessary. Film's climax is too filmsy as there is long action and firing sequence.
Go watch this film if you missed all those cop films made in last 20 years otherwise give it a miss.
