“SHIRIN FARHAD KI TOH NIKAL PADI” Is A Cute Love Story
Farah Khan is natural and lovable in her debut, Boman Irani as dependable as ever, cute chemistry between the lead pair, neat direction and crisp editing
Songs are irritating to say the least, script is uninspiring and dialogues are lazy
Watch it for cute chemistry of lead pair
Film has released with minimum expectations as it stars debutant Farah Khan and seasoned actor Boman Irani. Film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his sister Bela Sehgal has made debut as director. Film takes you on journey of middle aged Parsi couple and typical hurdles a love story faces.
Film starts on a slow note but after a while film gets into the groove. It presents Shirin (Farah Khan) as a typical middle aged woman but her cute characterization makes a lasting impact. Farhad (Boman Irani) works in a lingerie shop and hence he provides ample laughter throughout.
Film has a wafer thin plot and nothing new to offer in terms of screenplay but its the crazy and cute chemistry between lead pair that keeps the proceedings alive. Farah Khan makes an impressive debut and she makes her presence felt in every shot with her natural act. Boman Irani is in top notch form with intact comic timing and impeccable emotional depth.
Supporting cast consisting of Honey Irani and Shammi are average but they are too stereotyped in terms of their approach to the role. Cinematography is strictly average but editing keeps it tight. But the real credit goes to debutant director Bela Sehgal who encompasses the whole film with her talent. She makes sure that melodrama never gets overboard and cuteness of lead pair comes across as natural as possible.
Overall film is a good one time watch and if you enjoy laid back Sunday evening watching a cute harmless love story with interesting lead pair then this is perfect outing for you.
