1920 EVILRETURNS Fulfill What It Promises
Full of chilling moments, impressive background score, edgydirection
Climax is stretched, songs come as loo break
Watch itfor some real jump out of the seat moments
Film isthe latest offering from Vikram Bhatt though this one is directed by hisassistant Bhushan Patel. Film promises to be scarier than its 1st installmentand has rather low key release,
Story andbasic premise are cliche and have nothing new to offer. A guest house, a coupleset in and an evil spirit enters in the body of lady of the house. But it isthe editing, background score, chilling shots and decent performances which liftthe movie.
In termsof performance, Aftab makes a sort of comeback with this and surprisinglydelivers a decent performance. Tia Bajpai looks good and impresses with herhistrionics. Sagar Saikia and Vidya Malvade are okay.
Music isnot bad and songs are melodious. Though songs are good but they impacts thetempo of the film. In smaller centers and towns, songs will bring the crowd in.Editing is top notch, camerawork is imaginative, background score is spooky anddirection by debutant Bhushan Patel is exemplary.
Overallfilm is a good outing for movie buffs who are looking for some jump out of theseat moments. It has what it promises and is far better than "Raaz 3"and "Bhoot Returns", the recent horror flicks.
Go for this one if you are looking for desi old fashioned horrorflick!
