THE LEGEND OF MICHAEL MISHRA Is Absurdily Bore
Watch it for good sleep in cinemas
Manish Jha made decent films like 'Anwar' and 'Maatrubhoomi' but this first piece of trash on celluloid from him.
Full Pant (Boman Irani) welcomes a group of touring students into a roadside eatery (dhaba), and forcefully narrates them the story of Michael Mishra (Arshad Warsi). Mishra wields knife like a pro and is in love with aspiring actress Varsha Shukla (Aditi Rao Hydari). But their relationship is headed to a dead end unless Michael leaves the world of crime. From reality show ‘Bihar Is Full Of Talent’ to a jail named ‘Bhairon Ghati Ka Kala Pani’, this film showcases the highest level of mindless buffoonery. An utterly bored Warsi sleepwalks through the film and keeps mumbling something in a dialect no Bihari has ever used. It's simple showcasing of nonsense.
Film tries to have novel plot but screenplay and execution are pathetic. Film remains in wannabe comedy mode with forced and sleep inducing songs.
Performance wise, everyone is uninspiring. Arshad Warsi sleepwalks, Boman Irani is irritating with misfit accent and Aditi Rao Haydri is listless. Special mention for most irritating Kayjo Irani.
Film has decent editing. Background music is cliche. Cinematography is poor, production design is loud and costumes are apt. Music is bore. Dialogues and screenplay are worst part.
Director Manish Jha delivers such a lazy film with no novel factor. It looks dated and has nothing to offer.
Film released today and will open with pathetic numbers and to carry the momentum at box office will be a tough task. Film will be a washout.
Go for this one if you missed earlier Arshad Warsi starrer duds!
