SHAHID Fails To Grow Over Weekend Despite Appreciation

''Shahid'' arrived without much expectations at box office as such films depend only on word of mouth. Film had few things in favor - backing of big corporate U TV which pushed the envelope with films like "The Lunchbox" and exceptional reviews from critics/festivals.

But sadly for cinema lovers and makers, film failed to grow at box office due to competition from biggie "Boss" and dull pre- diwali period. Film collected 45 lakhs on Friday followed by 75 lakhs on Saturday. Film should add further 80-85 lakhs on Sunday.

Film has collected close to 2 cr nett weekend total which is below par considering decent enough P & A. Film will find it tough on weekdays from here on.
